We have pedicures for gorgeous feet and manicures to nourish our hardworking hands.

It’s likely you’ve had a least one of those treatments in your life but have you ever heard of a labicure and do you need one?

Our lips are as unique as our fingerprints. They allow us to speak, eat, show emotion and love.

The delicate skin on your lips is five times thinner than elsewhere on your body. It has no sweat or oil glands, and very little melatonin, leaving your lips susceptible to hot and cold temperatures, wind and dehydration.

That’s why we need to give them a little more TLC!

No one likes having dry, chapped and cracked lips so here are some simple and natural ways to keep your lips healthy and soft.

How to Care for Your Lips

1) Stay Hydrated

This is probably the most important way we can look after our lips (our bodies and minds too!). Skin needs to be nourished and hydrated from within, and even more so our lips.

2) Try Not to Lick Your Lips

It is so tempting to keep licking your dry lips but this can actually make them feel worse.

Enzymes in saliva are harsh on delicate lips and when the saliva evaporates it just leaves your lips feeling even drier so you do it again.

3) Remove Your Make-Up Every Night

Gently remove your lipstick every night with your favourite cleanser and a cotton pad to clean away all dirt and make-up residue, preventing possible infection and allowing the delicate skin to breathe.

Always apply lip balm before you go to bed to allow the nourishing oils to do their work while you sleep.

4) Nourish From Within

An unhealthy diet shows up quickly on our skin and our lips are no different. Plenty of fruit and vegetables, healthy proteins and fats all contribute to luscious lips.

5) Give Yourself a Labicure

Step 1 – Massage a small amount of Coffee Scrub over your lips and the delicate skin around your mouth, focusing on any dry and chapped areas.

The sugar, Himalayan salt and natural oils will gently improve circulation and remove any dead skin cells which create a barrier that prevents moisture from being absorbed.

The antioxidants in the coffee will feed your lips while you breathe in the warm, rich aroma.

Step 2 – Apply a generous amount of your favourite Shea Butter Lip Balm and massage into your lips and the skin around your mouth, ensuring you get into the often neglected cracks at the edges.

Why Our Lip Balm Is so Unique

Our special blend of shea and cocoa butter, together with beeswax, rosehip, vitamin E and olive oils soothe and protect your lips while deeply moisturising and nourishing.

Your lips will feel soft and look beautiful and the balm will provide a protective barrier from the elements.

You can look and feel good, knowing that you’re not putting anything synthetic on your mouth.

Our Men Need to Look After Their Lips Too
